There is a lot of confusion regarding Price, Quality, Grade, and Origin of Hair Extensions.
If you are inexperienced or unfamiliar with hair finding the perfect hair extensions can be a daunting task.
We recognize this as a true struggle and we are here to help!
Note: The standard weight of sew in bundles are 100 grams or 3.5oz
Below are some terms that are used when describing hair extensions.
Terms:
Remy: Remy hair is 100% Human Hair, the word "Remy" simply means that all the hair cuticles are facing the same direction and are fully intact. This prevents tangling, fly aways and shedding of the hair. Remy does not in itself qualify a hair to be "Virgin". (Cali Dream Girl Hair Company Only sells Remy hair).
Virgin: Virgin hair is harvested from 1-3 donors, this ensures Uniform Texture, Color, and Quality throughout the bundle. Virgin Hair guarantees that no chemical processing has been used on the hair, such as dyes, perms, harsh washes etc. (Cali Dream Girl Hair Company sells Virgin hair).
Single Drawn: Single Drawn Hair is single wefted. Providing you with a mix of long and short strands of hair making the bundle less dense. A Single Drawn bundle usually tapper toward the bottom making the ends thinner than double drawn hair. Cali Dream Girl Hair Company standard bundles are 10A Single Drawn Virgin Hair. With Proper care single drawn bundles can last up to 2 years.
Double Drawn: Double Drawn Hair is double wefted. With Double Drawn bundles most if not all short strands are removed. This guarantees uniform volume of the bundle from root to tip. Cali Dream Girl Hair Company ‘Mink’ bundle are 10A Double Drawn Virgin Hair. This hair will last twice as long as single drawn hair.
Mink: "Mink" is, in reality is a marketing term used to refer to hair that is long lasting, of the highest quality, and highest density currently available. Mink is 100% Virgin Human hair and does not come from the Mink animal. Not all companies will follow the same guidelines for labeling bundles as "Mink". Cali Dream Girl Hair Co. maintains its own standards for Mink Hair, Our Mink hair will have the following characteristics:
- 100% Virgin Remy Human Hair, grade 10a (see grade information below)
- Double Drawn to ensure that most if not all short strands are removed from the bundle, this guarantees uniform volume of the bundle from root to tip.
Hair Grades
The higher the grade, the smaller the percentage of short hairs present within a bundle. Generally speaking, the higher the number, the higher the grade.
6A hair: Grade 6A hair is 100% non-Remy human hair without any animal and synthetic fibers.
7A hair: Grade 7A hair is 100% Remy human hair.
8A hair: Grade 8A hair is the same hair as 7A with full cuticle aligned, no harsh washes, natural and unprocessed. Virgin 8A hair is much fuller than 7A, which means that it has fewer short hairs mixed in the hair bundles.
10A hair: Grade 10A hair is 100% Virgin human hair. This hair has very little if any short hair mixed in the hair bundles, this means that most of hair strands are the same length.
